Unappreciated Hero

(Photo Source: www.wakatipuchurch.com/wp-content/uploads/Mother-waiting.gif) Kevin was coming home. It was 3 am in the morning. He had just been dropped off by his friends and was staggering to the doorstep. He looked up and saw the lights from the sitting room were on. He tried to wipe himself to look tidy, not like someone who had just spent the better part of the day smoking and drinking. After his futile attempts he gave up and decided he needed to sleep. He unlocked the door using his keys, entered and shut it. He removed his shoes and tried to tiptoe to his room, but he knew it was futile. "Halo Kevin." "Halo Mom." "Long night I see?" "Yes mom, I enjoyed myself." "That is good my son, but I have a question to ask, or rather a favor." "Not again mom. For crying out loud it is 3 am in the morning. Can't we just talk tomorrow?" "No we have to talk now." "Come...

It is not my fault

(Photo Source: nydailynew.com) Stephanie approached him, unsure of what might happen next. She had heard what he had been saying, listened in on some of his remarks and read his comments on social media. She knew how he felt or maybe she didn't. But for her marriage to work she had to confront him. "Halo." "Halo." He said distantly. "We need to talk." "You don't say, about what?" "I have noticed your reactions towards me. I have heard what you have been saying about me and I want to know why?" "why, what?" "Why do you hate me?" "Because I can." She was not shocked by his answer but had to pause. She looked closely at him as he tried to avoid eye contact. "Why didn't you come to Australia?" "I already replied to that." "I was not told the answer." He breathed heavily. She had touched a nerve. People close b...

I am Scared

(Photo Source: polyvore.com) The other day I went to my sister's talent show at school. My mom had asked me to come along to learn how to 'parent'. I gladly went to also show my support for my little sister. I would do anything to see my sister happy. It was actually quite good. There were children making speeches, doing chemical experiments that left me amazed, and singing. My sister played her flute or recorder (she told us it was not a flute. It looked like a flute to me). It was generally a good performance and I marveled at what the children were showcasing. The events that happened at the end of the show were the ones that had me scared. The dancing. One girl came on stage and I almost went to cover her up, but because of the world today, my intentions would have been mistaken. I felt horrid and cringed in my seat. I wanted to support these girls dancing, but my eyes always fell on her. I felt sorry for her. She was around my sister's age (12-14). T...

Secret Tapes

(Photo Source: ocdlife.ca/wp-content/uploads) "Halo" "Halo, Chris." "Yes Charlene, What is up?" "I see you you still have my number. I want to ask you a question." "Really? I am busy right now, how about some other time." "What other time?" "When I am free." "I think you know why I have called you?" "To tell me that you love me and breaking up with me was a mistake?" "No, you know what I am talking about." "Listen Charlene, stop talking in riddles, I am a busy man these days. I don't have time for nonsense." "Oooh, you are going to act like that huh?" "Is there something you wanted to tell me?" "Why are you in such a hurry? Are you going to upload another video?" "Another video of what?" "Do you know how much you have hurt me? I shared an intimate moment with ...

50 Stories

(Photo Source: visionsfcu.org/images/50_Member_Stories_Logo_1-16) Well it has been 50 stories. I was not sure what would happen when I started this blog in 2013. I just wanted a place where I could write stories and save them, plus have some people to read. So far I have been able to write many exciting and sometimes sad stories and the number of readership has really impressed me. As I am writing now I have had as many as 1300 viewers and readers who have gone through my stories. My biggest reader base has been in Kenya and the United States. However I have had people as far as Chile, Romania, Germany, Russia, France, Ukraine, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, The United Kingdom and Poland going through my stories. I am truly thankful. I also appreciate my friends Linda and George who have supported me and challenged me to write these stories. I am also thankful to one of my former lecturers, Dr. Larry Ndivo, who encouraged me to start a blog  and put my stories. T...

My Replacemennt

(Photo Source: s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com) I didn't know how I was going to react. I felt cheated, betrayed, annoyed, full of hate, I was ready to murder someone. "Why? Why is this happening to me? After all this time? What will happen to my daughter? How can another man just come in and take over?" I felt like I was not man enough; another man had to come do my job. Rose had called me the day before and she asked that I meet the man she will be marrying the next month. She said it was important because he will be the one who will be helping her take care of my little princess Nelly. She wanted to make sure I was cool with it, and to make things simpler she would also come along with my daughter. I did not know how to react. What man would want to meet his rival. My thought began flowing on the fact that she was cheating on me before the divorce. This man she was bringing was probably responsible for it. He gave her something I couldn't. The worst tho...

It is my child (Conclusion)

(Photo Source: madskillsvocabulary.files.wordpress.com) "Wait a minute, Milly is that you?" Sally noticed her trying to hide her face. "Ahhh...kumbe it is you Milly. I was not wrong. How is the baby doing?" ""The baby is doing fine Dr. Gatanga." "Good, that is good to hear. When are you going to bring your husband to finalize the adoption?" "Wait a minute, doctor did you just say adoption?" Gerald becomes completely shocked. "What adoption are you talking about? Is that not my child?" "Ahh, so you must be Gerald. My name is Dr. Gatanga. Unfortunately your child died, and Milly here came to us to adopt a child of similar age to her first one." Outwardly surprised. "Milly had told me the both of you had talked about it and that you were ready for adoption." "Milly what is this doctor talking about?" The room fell silent as everybody turned to Milly. "Well...I.......
