I LOVE DUBSTEP!!!

(NB: ALL PHOTOS COURTESY OF GOOGLE & VIDEOS FROM YOU TUBE) The truth is I do not know why I love dubstep.  Whenever I listen to a dubstep song I want to stand up and dance. I was introduced to dubstep by a friend called Kibui. He came up to me and asked me to listen to UKF (A Dubstep recording group). It was 'love at first sound'. I could not get the song out of my head and from then on I became a huge dubstep fan. I have been listening to dubstep ever since the beginning of 2012 and I have been able to collect and listen more than 1000 dubstep songs. I created a specific folder for them. My favorite dubstep song is Crave you by Flight Facilities (Adventure's club remix). The reason I love it is because of its beats and it always uplifts me whenever am having a bad day or the lecturer has given me a tough assignment and it’s due the next day. I know some of you are wondering what is dubstep? Well I will give you the definition and a brief history. Ac...

After Graduation

Apparently you have to rejoice and be glad after passing another stage in life, graduating from the university. To others it is a milestone they were unable to achieve and see it important to share the limelight, while others who were able to pass through try to relive their hey days. It is all fun and excitement. Goats and chicken get killed in honor of the honor you got. You get lost in the fact that after four years you made it. That is until Monday morning. Father: Son we need to talk Son: .... (kwisha). Father: It is time you think about what you want next. Son: …… (still loading)……eh….. Father: I want you to look for a master’s program, search for a job and get a wife. It is time you became independent and left home to make yours. By the time I was your age I already had a child, a job and a loving wife so it is up to you. I think I speak for everyone who has experienced this, it is the most akwardest moment in your life. You feel like there is a thousa...

Love Lost 4

It is always hard, but I never understand the reason we love or want to be loved. As a guy I always try to imp ress the opposite sex, but always end up hurt. It's like I never learn. Meeting her seemed like a destiny. At first I avoided her like a bad plague. Something in my heart told me it was wrong, but I dived head first like a fool, hoping to break my fall on the hard concrete and survive. As usual it started off with introductions when we shared a class and she insisted I help her. For some strange reason people think am an egg head, please....I walked her to her destination and all in the well chatted and found we had a lot in common. We became friends on Face book and exchanged numbers almost on the same day. I smiled and was I felt like the King of a hill. My mind was like "Here we go again". My relationship status was always like a bad record. I meet her, there is chemistry, I am blinded by love (if not lust), I propose (to be my girlfriend of c...

Love Lost 3

Back in primary, those many years ago, I was in love. For some strange reason I have never understood why I am fascinated with ladies who have a lighter shade of skin than mine (believe me I love being dark). She was pretty in every way possible. She had a kind heart and treated everyone nicely. We started school together in class one. At the moment I was not very interested because I had a good thing going on with marbles and pushing tires across the estate. However, I did recognize her kind heartedness and beautiful smile. She awed me to no end. In class three she taught me how to swim. To learn more from her I always kept by her side and at times would throw my hands just to ' accidentally ' touch her. She transferred to another school in class 5, and I was left a shell of a boy. I missed her badly and constantly kept thinking about her. I know I was in class 5 and naive, but I felt I had lost something special. I was happy when one day we went to swim and I saw h...

True Justice

It was a sunny Thursday afternoon as I walked down the streets of Nairobi. I was super happy, I just got paid and I was heading to the bank. It was my first job and this was my first paycheck. Now I could save money and move out of my parents house. My father was asking for rent for living in his house. My lady was also on my case. She started working a year ago, now she feels rich and wants a man who can maintain her status. Mr. Joakim was going to be happy to know his investment would not go to waste. He told me to work somewhere else and depending on my progress he would offer me a chance to play with the 'big boys of accounting in Nairobi' My life looked like it was taking an upturn for the best. Nothing could go wrong. "Kijana wapi pesa?" "Kijana nakuongelesha." I was still dazed. I tried recollecting myself. "Sijaibia mtu. Hizo ni pesa zangu." "Angalia receipt niko nayo kwa mfuko." The clever bastards had even tak...

Love Ship

Its cold, I am trying to breathe, but every gulp of air I breathe is followed by a sudden gush of water. How did I get here? What exactly happened? Is this a dream? The sun was shining. The smell of the salty ocean. The sound of the waves beating on the coral reefs. I was looking forward to our trip. I had planned it for months as a way of trying to build a connection with her. She did not talk, she just stared blankly as I parked the car. "Listen, am sorry. I was hoping this trip would allow us to patch up and think about us." She did not even flinch. I swallowed a huge load of saliva as I opened my door and went to the boot to remove our bags. She continued her daze, I almost felt like she had become a zombie. I wanted us to have fun, but I predicted a gloomy vacation. I wished we could turn back and forget everything. My mom was the one who advised me to organize the trip. Nothing can beat a mother's instinct. She got out of the car, dragging her feet and op...

Karma

She stood there. She scratched her scruffy hair. She was hungry and sweaty. She rummaged through the trash bin hoping to find something to cheat her stomach with. If she still had it she could be scuffing down a hot meal or a milkshake at Java. Life in the cold Nairobi streets was tough. People never had time for her antics and the County Council askaris were always on her. The beasts had the courage to ask her for sex so that she could not go to jail. She had many challenges, but her main goal was to find the old woman. She was the one responsible for her misfortune. Why did she have to do this? She had done nothing wrong. So why was she paying for something she had not done. The sun blazed. Her hunger was intense. She tried going to a restaurant to beg for even bones, but she was chased and blamed for driving away the customers. She found a cold pavement and sat. She tucked her knees near her chest. She tried to cry but she did not have the strength to shed a tear. "G...
