Apparently you have to rejoice and be glad after passing
another stage in life, graduating from the university. To others it is a
milestone they were unable to achieve and see it important to share the
limelight, while others who were able to pass through try to relive their hey
days. It is all fun and excitement. Goats and chicken get killed in honor of
the honor you got. You get lost in the fact that after four years you made it.
That is until Monday morning.
Father: Son we need to talk
Son: .... (kwisha).
Father: It is time you think about what you want next.
Son: …… (still loading)……eh…..
Father: I want you to look for a master’s program, search for
a job and get a wife. It is time you became independent and left home to make
yours. By the time I was your age I already had a child, a job and a loving
wife so it is up to you.
I think I speak for everyone who has experienced this, it is
the most akwardest moment in your life. You feel like there is a thousand inch heel
shoe you have to fit in.
This cycle is sort of boring, be born, go to school for 16
years, get a job, get married, get kids and wait to die (I have nothing against
marrying and having kids).
You never actually get to stop and breathe. Once you
are finished with one chapter you move on to the next phase without reflecting.
Of course I am looking for a job (anyone got a job?), of course
I am looking for a school (the same one I went sounds ‘nice’) and of course I
am looking for a wife (any lady feel like she can fit, send your applications),
But I want to live.
It is nice being normal and following a set plan, but that is
not me.
I am going to act for a living, maybe buy land and build
rental houses (money will come from charity), create my own company, play video games and make it a
profession; I will do what I feel and enjoy. I would rather be paid 10
shillings at a job I love than be paid a six figure salary at a job I sit for 9
hours a day.
I know, I know, yes, I will marry and have kids, nobody can
live alone (they just have to be crazy sane people). This one part of the life cycle I don't want to miss.
I have to admit, I am happy I Graduated :)
